Messages

The contact form sends the text you enter to Alexey through Telegram. If you include an email address or other contact details, those travel with your message and are used to respond. Do not include passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal information.

Guestbook

Leaving a note requires an email address. The address is stored privately with the note and used to generate a consistent philosopher-and-colour name and enforce one active note per email. It is not displayed publicly and does not subscribe you to a newsletter. A browser identifier associates your current session with your note.

The note, generated name, country when available, and submission time are stored. The moderation notification sent to Alexey through Telegram includes the note and email. Your own note appears immediately in your browser; other visitors see it only after approval. Approved notes may show the generated name, country, and date.

You can remove your note using its close button while the current browser session still holds its deletion information. For removal after that, email Alexey. Removing a note from the site does not automatically remove a copy already delivered to Telegram; request that separately.

Visit statistics

The site records a random browser-session identifier, visit time, and country when supplied by the hosting network. The visit table does not store your IP address or page-by-page browsing history. The network processes IP addresses to deliver requests and limit abuse.

Public statistics show visit totals, countries, and recent visit countries and times. Visit records older than 30 days are removed when new visits are recorded. Visit collection is skipped when the browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control through the supported browser settings.

Browser storage

Local browser storage remembers interface preferences such as theme and navigation state. Session storage prevents counting the same browsing session repeatedly and keeps the information needed to display and remove your own guestbook note. Clearing browser storage can reset these features.

Newsletter

The site includes a newsletter sign-up interface, but delivery is not yet connected in this version. A failed sign-up does not confirm a subscription. Before subscriptions are enabled, this notice will identify the delivery provider and explain retention and unsubscribe handling.

Service providers

The site’s API uses Cloudflare for request handling, abuse protection, and database storage. Contact messages and guestbook moderation use Telegram. These providers process information needed to perform those functions and may process it in other countries. Following a link to another website subjects your visit to that website’s practices.

Purpose and retention

Messages are used to handle the conversation you start. Guestbook information supports publication, moderation, ownership, and abuse prevention. Technical information supports operation and security. Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, responding to requests and protecting the site rely on legitimate interests; any future newsletter subscription will rely on consent.

Guestbook records remain while the note is retained, including the private information needed to enforce the one-note rule. There is currently no automatic expiry for notes or Telegram correspondence. You can request deletion by email. Visit retention follows the 30-day process described above.

Your choices

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your data, restriction of processing, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent where consent is used. Email mail@alexey.ws with enough information to locate the record; reasonable verification may be needed. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

This notice will be updated when the site’s data practices change. The date below identifies the latest revision.
